The cost of LED street lights is currently very high, almost 5 times more than that of the normal legacy lights. Beacuse of the high led fictures for street lights, it is becomming somewhat hard for many munncipalities of the world, especially of the developing nations to get these lights installed in their wards.
But the saving in replacing the sodium lamps is far more than the the insital cost of the LEd lamps, beause of great savaings in power consumption.
In the longer run, it is wuite eveident that the high cost of these fixtures is going to decrease, and newer cheaper version will really eliminate the legacy sodium lamps.
